As of 13/07/2020
Melbourne has re-entered stage 3 stay at home restrictions. Current advice from the Department of Education and Training has stated that Early Childhood Services are deemed at low-risk and that on site learning is to commence from the 13th July, 2020.
The St. John’s Kindergarten Committee Inc, as the approved provider, has allowed staff to take the five curriculum days in line with teachers in Victorian school settings. During this time staff will be on site to prepare for term 3. Kindergarten sessions for term 3 will resume as of the 20th July, 2020.
Families that wish to continue educating their children at home due to health concerns are welcome to do so but are encouraged to return.
We will be asking families to use the automatic hand sanitiser station provided at drop off and pick up, waiting outside of the building and allowing staff to bring children in and out of the building along with following correct social distancing measures while waiting. Children will be temperature checked on arrival and any temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or above will require parents/guardians to wait for 15 minutes with their child to be rechecked or take the child home and seek medical advice. We have also provided a 30 minute window either side of the session for children to be dropped off and picked up to help with social distancing measures.
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Open Day which was to be held on the 23rd May, 2020. We encourage you to look through our web page and also our virtual walk through tour which can be found here.
At this stage, due to the new Melbourne restrictions, we are unable to have people come through the kindergarten for a tour like we had previously hoped to.
